This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Glass

Alien Skin Xenofex 2 - Constellation

Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Bkg Kaleidoscope

You can download the plugins

Place or install the plugins in your Plugin folder.

If you have to install plugins, you have to restart your PSP, so they work immediately.

It contains: 3 tubes - 1 background.

The tubes are by Jolanda, Patry Mists and tubes and Sorensen Designs.

The other tubes are unknown to me.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #958437 (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #200200 (or at your choice).

Open a transparent image of 600 x 500 pixels.

Step 2

Selections - Select all.

Layers - New raster layer.

Copy image 'la_paper gold'.

Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Step 3

Layers - New raster layer.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Foreground-background' - Sunburst - Angle 0 - Repeats 4 - Horizontal and Vertical to 50.

Flood fill your layer with this gradient.

Effects - Plugins - Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Bkg Kaleidoscope - Kaleidoscope Persian - default settings.

Effects - Geometric effects - Perspective-horizontal - with these settings:

Step 4

Image - Mirror.

Effects - Geometric effects - Perspective-horizontal - same settings as before.

Effects - Distortion effects - Wave - with these settings:

Change the Blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L).

Step 5

Layers - New raster layer.

Open tube 'Joland@ Time-023'.

Image - Resize - Width 500 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place the clock in the upper right corner.

Step 6

Open tube 'PatryMists_NewYear03'.

Image - Resize - Height 365 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it right below.

Step 7

Open tube 'Sorensen_Designs Mist Sept 237-10'

Image - Resize - Height 600 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Step 8

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 9

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 3 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 3 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 20 pixels - foreground color.

Activate your Magic wand - Outside checked - with these settings:

Select the last border with your Magic wand.

Flood fill the selection with your gradient.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Glass - click tab Settings - click Clear - see image below:

with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Step 10

Activate your Freehand selection - Point to point - Mode to Add (Shift).

Draw a selection around the rope light.

Effects - Alien Skin Xenofex 2 - Constellation.

Click on tab 'Settings' - click 'Bling Bling' - see image below:

with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 11

Back to PSP - click Undo 2x.

Effects - Alien Skin Xenofex 2 - Constellation - click 1x Random Seed - click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 12

Back to PSP - click Undo 2x.

Effects - Alien Skin Xenofex 2 - Constellation - click 1x Random Seed - click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 13

Animation - Resize animation - Width 700 pixels.

Save your crea as a gif file and you're done!

If you got a screen, click 3x Next - click 1x Finish.
