This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

 

For this lesson you need the following plugins:

FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss

ScreenWorks - Close Knit

You can download them

Place or install the plugins in your Plugin folder.

If you have to install plugins, you have to restart your PSP, so they work immediately.

It contains: 2 tubes - 1 picture - 1 pattern - 2 masks.

Place the pattern and the masks in there folder.

 

The tubes are by By Hebe and Lon Rhae.

The masks are by DBV and VJF.

Step 1

Open the tubes and the picture in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #ffffff (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #000000 (or at your choice).

Open a transparent image of 800 x 600 pixels.

Step 2

Selections - Select all.

Copy image 'Motief'.

Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Step 3

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk - load mask 'vjf_mask_lights' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Effects - Plugins - FM Tile Tool - Blend Emboss - default settings.

Step 4

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your foreground color.

Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk - load mask 'DBVXmasMask07' - same settings as before.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Effects - Plugins - FM Tile Tool - Blend Emboss - default settings.

Repeat this plugin 1x.

Step 5

Open tube 'woman174_ByHebe'.

Image - Resize - Height 600 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place her on the left side - see main image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 0 - Opacity 55 - Blur 45 - background color.

Step 6

Open tube 'Image26Silver Christmas_LR.

Image - Resize - Height 600 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place the tree on the right side - see main image.

Change the Blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L).

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 7

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 8

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 1 pixel - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 12 pixels - background color.

Activate your Magic wand - Outside checked - with these settings:

Select the last border with your Magic wand.

Effects - Texture effects - Blinds - color #c0c0c0 - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Step 9

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 1 pixel - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 13 pixels - background color.

Select this border with your Magic wand.

Effects - Plugins - ScreenWorks - Close Knit.

Step 10

Layers - New raster layer.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Foreground-background' - Linear - background color to #7e7e7e - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - ScreenWorks - Close Knit.

Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen.

Selections - Select none.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 1 pixel - foreground color.

Image - Resize - Width 850 pixels - All layers checked.

Adjust - Brightness and Contrast - Brightness: 2.

Save your crea as a jpg file and you're done!
