Gothics New Year

Gerrie, thank you very much for your permission that I may translate your tutorials.

This tutorial was made in PSP X9, but can also be made in the other versions.

For this tutorial you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Extrude and Perspective Shadow

Greg's Factory Output Vol. II - Pool Shadow

Nik Software - Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete

ScreenWorks - Dot Screen

You can download the plugins

Place or install the plugins in your Plugin folder.

If you have to install plugins, you have to restart your PSP, so they work immediately.

you can download the materials.

It contains: 4 tubes - 1 color label - 2 presets - 1 font.

Click double on the presets, it's automatically in the preset of Perspective Shadow.

Open the font and minimize it, or load fonts by Tool of font FXplorer and it's in your font in PSP.

Permission to use the tubes

The tubes are by PSP Devil and MDS.

The other tubes are unknown to me.

If they are yours, please let me know so I can give you the proper credit.

Step 1

Open the tubes and the color label in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #916076 (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #523f45 (or at your choice).

If you use other colors, you can colorize them with:

Adjust - Hue and Saturation - Colorize: the H and S of your background color.

Open tube 'Alfa's-Gothics -Nieuwjaar' - Shift+D to copy it.

Close the original, the copy is your working image.

Step 2

Layers - New raster layer.

Selections - Select all.

Copy tube 'mds7254 Mystic'.

Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Lower the Opacity of this layer to 70.

Step 3

Layers - New raster layer.

Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from Alpha channel - load 'Selectie1' - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Perspective Shadow - Drop Shadow, Blurry - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Mirror (in PSP X9 it's Horizontal Mirror).

Layers - Merge - Merge down.

Step 4

Layers - New raster layer.

Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from Alpha channel - load 'Selectie2' - with these settings:

Flood fill the selection with your foreground color.

Selections - Select none.

Effects - Plugins - ScreenWorks - Dot Screen.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Mirror (in PSP X9 it's Horizontal Mirror).

Layers - Merge - Merge down.

Step 5

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 1 pixel - color white.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 40 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 1 pixel - color white.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 50 pixels - background color.

Select this border with your Magic wand - Contiguous and outside checked - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - Greg's Factory Output Vol. II - Pool Shadow - default settings - see image below:

Effects - Toadies - What Are You? - with these settings:

Selections - Invert.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 0 - Opacity 60 - Blur 12 - color black - Repeat 1x.

Step 6

Copy tube 'What time what face Artifice-tubed by A PSP Devil'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Put it on a nice place.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - at your choice.

Layers - Merge - Merge down.

Effects - Plugins - Nik Software - Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete - Tonal Contrast - see image below:

Effects - Plugins - Nik Software - Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete - Graduated Neutral Density - see image below:

Step 7

Copy tube 'Wijzer'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Name this layer 'hand1'.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Right - 4 - nothing checked.

Name this layer 'hand2'.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Right - 5 - nothing checked.

Name this layer 'hand3'.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Right - 6 - nothing checked.

Name this layer 'hand4'.

Layers - Duplicate.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Right - 7 - nothing checked.

Name this layer 'hand5'.

Step 8

Activate your Text tool - font Today - Size 72 - Text color white - see image below:

Type the number 20.

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Place the numbers upper left - see main image.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Extrude.

Click tab Settings - choose 'Gothics_Nieuwjaar_ Gerrie' - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Step 9

Type number 1.

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Place the '1' upper right - see main image.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Extrude.

Click tab Settings - choose 'Gothics_Nieuwjaar_ Gerrie 2' - with these settings:

Image - Mirror (in PSP X9 it is Horizontal Mirror).

Slide the dots against each other.

Layers - Merge - Merge down.

Name this layer 'number 1'.

Step 10

Type number 6.

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Place the '6' upper right, next to the 1 - see main image.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Extrude - same settings as before - see image below:

Name this layer number6.

Step 11

Type number 7.

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Place the '7' upper right exactly on the 6 - the points exactly on each other - see main image.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Extrude - same settings as before - see image below:

Name this layer number7.

Step 12

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Step 13

Close all layers.

Open the bottom layer - hand1 - number 1 - number 6 and your watermark layer.
