Make a Picture

This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

 

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS).

 

you can download the materials.

It contains: 3 tubes - 1 scrapkit (Photography Studio Kit_BYXENA)

 

The tubes are by Elane and Kitty.

The other tubes are unknown to me.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #ffffff (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #000000 (or at your choice).

Open a transparent image of 650 x 550 pixels.

Selections - Select all.

Activate the scrapkit - copy 'Photography Studio Paper 3'.

Edit - Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Step 2

Activate the scrapkit - open 'Photography Studio Paper 2'.

Image - Resize - Width 400 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Edit - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 2 - Opacity 60 - Blur 6 - color black.

Step 3

Activate the scrapkit - open 'Photography Studio Paper 1'.

Image - Resize - Width 500 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Edit - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Left - 15 - nothing checked.

Effects - Image effects - Page curl - with these settings:

Place it in the upper right corner - see main image.

Step 4

Activate the scrapkit - open '10 Photography Studio Polaroid Frame 1'.

Image - Resize - Width 400 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Edit - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 5

Layers - New raster layer.

Activate your Freehand selection - Point to point - Feather 0 - Fluent and Anti alias checked.

Draw a selection on the inside of the frame.

Flood fill the selection with your background color (you don't have to fill the selection if you use a picture).

Copy your tube or image.

Edit - Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Step 6

Repeat step 5 2x for the other 2 frames.

Step 7

Repeat step 6 with the last frame.

Step 8

Activate the scrapkit - open '03 Photography Studio Digital Camera Element'.

Image - Resize - Width 250 pixels - or at your choice.

Edit - Copy.

Edit - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Put it on a nice place.

Step 9

Open tube 'Photo-Wilma'.

Image - Resize - Height 400 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Edit - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Put her on a nice place or see main image.

Step 10

Finish your crea with tubes from the scrapkit.

Step 11

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 12

Activate your Selection tool - Circle - Mode to Replace - Feather 0 - Anti alias checked - see image below:

Make a selection in the middle of your image - see image below:

Effects - Illumination effects - Sunburst - with these settings:

In the left picture you have to move the cross in the lens:

Click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 13

Back to PSP.

Click Undo 3x.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

DON'T USE ILLUMINATION EFFECT!

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 14

Back to PSP.

Click Undo 1x.

Click 1 step further 1x.

Effects - Illumination effects - Sunburst - same settings - only Brightness to 30.

Click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 15

Back to PSP.

Click Undo 2x.

Effects - Illumination effects - Sunburst - same settings - only Brightness to 40.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 16

In AS: Click in frame 1 - Selections - Select all.

Animation - Frame properties - 25.

Save your crea as a gif file.

If you got a screen, click 4x Next - click 1x Finish.
