Mermaids in Love

This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

AAA Frames - Foto Frame

Flaming Pear - Flood

Penta.com - Dott and Cross

You can download the plugins

Place or install the plugins in your Plugin folder.

If you have to install plugins, you have to restart your PSP, so they work immediately.

you can download the materials.

It contains: 5 tubes - 1 background - 2 masks - 1 color label.

The masks are by Astrid and Monaiekje.

The tubes are by JDL, Mujer and YokaliciousDesigns.

The other tubes are unknown to me.

Step 1

Open the tubes, the background, the color label and masks in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #bfdde7 (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #01181e (or at your choice).

Step 2

Open a your background picture, this will be your working image.

Layers - New mask layer - From image - find mask 'Monaiekje mask 21' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 3

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Layers - New mask layer - From image - find mask 'Astrid masker 110' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge group.

Effects - Custom plugin - Emboss_3 - default settings - see image below:

Step 4

Copy tube 'Yoka-Misted-Jellyfish080909'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 10 - Opacity 50 - Blur 20 - color black.

Step 5

Open tube 'JdL_Mermaids-in-love-small'.

Adjust - Hue and saturation - Colorize: 136 - 86 (or at your choice).

Edit - Copy - Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Resize - 90% - All layers not checked.

Place them on the left side - see main image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 6

Copy tube 'element 3'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it on the right side - see main image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 7

Copy tube 'Zeepaardjes'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place them on the right side - see main image.

Change the Blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L).

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 8

Copy tube 'Mujer7'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place her on the right side - see main image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Make sure this woman is at the top layer.

Step 9

Activate the woman's layer.

Layers - New raster layer.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Foreground-background' - Linear - Angle 1 - Repeats - Invert checked.

Flood fill your layer with this gradient.

Change the Blend mode of this layer to Soft light.

Step 10

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 11

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 50 pixels - background color.

Activate your Magic wand - Outside checked - with these settings:

Select the last border with your Magic wand.

Selections - Invert.

Effects - Plugins - AAA Frames - Foto Frame - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Effects - Plugins - Flaming Pear - Flood - with these settings:

Step 12

Copy tube 'Yoka-Misted-Jellyfish080909'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Resize - 80% - All layers not checked.

Put it on a nice place.

Adjust - Brightness and contrast - Brightness/contrast: 0 - 20 (or at your choice).

Edit - Copy special - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 13

Back to PSP - click Undo.

Adjust - Brightness and contrast - Brightness/contrast: 0 - 35 (or at your choice).

Edit - Copy special - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 14

Back to PSP - click Undo.

Adjust - Brightness and contrast - Brightness/contrast: 0 - 50 (or at your choice).

Edit - Copy special - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 15

In AS: Edit - Select all.

Animation - Frame properties: 70.

Animation - Resize animation - Width 800 pixels.

Step 16

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

If you are satisfied:

Save your crea as a gif file and you're done!

If you got a screen, click 3x Next - click 1x Finish.
