This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS)

you can download the materials.

It contains: 8 tubes - 2 masks - 2 animations.

Place the masks in your mask folder.

The tubes are by Manon (MTM) and Phooey.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #a55303 (or at your choice).

Set your background color to #572915 (or at your choice).

Open a transparent image of 650 x 550 pixels.

Flood fill your image with your foreground color.

Step 2

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk - load mask 'SKF_Mask48' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge group.

Step 3

Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk - load mask 'SKF_Mask48' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge group.

Set the Blend mode of this layer to Multiply.

Step 4

Copy tube 'spiderweb'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 3 - Opacity 65 - Blur 3 - black.

Step 5

Open tube '034_(Witch_Halloween)_Halloween Book ~ n w'.

Image - Resize - Height 400 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Rotate - Free rotate - Left - 10 - nothing checked.

Place it on the left side against the edge.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 6

Open tube 'witch_k-ph00ey'.

Image - Resize - Height 500 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 7

Open tube 'Mtm_bomen_Raven_By_SP-20_sept_2005'.

Image - Resize - Width 800 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it at the top of your crea, against the edge - see main image.

Step 8

Copy tube 'npxghost5'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place him left below.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow - same settings as before.

Step 9

Copy tube 'crack'.

Activate group raster 2.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it on the left side.

Layers - Duplicate - Image - Mirror.

Step 10

Open tube 'spin_d&d'.

Image - Resize - Width 75 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place him up and a little to the left.

Step 11

Copy tube 'ccd-hall79'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it right below.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 3 - Opacity 65 - Blur 3 - color #ad3e1d (orange).

Step 12

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 13

Image - Add borders - Symmetric checked - 1 pixel - background color.

Edit - Copy.

Step 14

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Click 1x Ctrl+C - Click 28x Ctrl+L (the letter l).

Now you have 29 frames.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Step 15

Open animation 'halloweenanima63353' in AS.

Animation - Resize animation - Height 60 pixels.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all - Edit - Copy.

Step 16

Activate your main animation.

Edit - Paste - In selected frame.

Put it on a nice place.

Step 17

Open animation 'halloween877484323221yx1' in AS.

Animation - Resize animation - Height 130 pixels.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all - Edit - Copy.

Step 18

Activate your main animation.

Edit - Paste - In selected frame.

Place him a little down in the middle.

Step 19

Animation - Frame properties - 10.

Step 20

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

Click View - Animation again to end the animation.

If you are satisfied:

Animation - Resize animation - Width 500 pixels.

Save your crea as a gif file and you're done!

If you got a screen, click 4x Next - click 1x Finish.
