This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

 

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Nature - Snow Drift

FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss

VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes

You can download the plugins

Place or install the plugins in your Plugin folder.

If you have to install plugins, you have to restart your PSP, so they work immediately.

 

you can download the materials.

It contains: 3 tubes - 1 mask.

Place the mask in your mask folder.

You need a misted background for in the window.

 

The tubes is by H@nne.

The other tubes are unknown to me.

If they are yours, please let me know so I can give you the proper credits.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground to color #ffffff (or at your choice).

Set your background to color #6d737c (or at your choice).

Open a transparent image of 600 x 500 pixels.

Flood fill your image with your background color.

Step 2

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Layers - Load/save mask - Load mask from disk - load mask 'tde_maske_x-mas2' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge group.

Effects - Plugins - FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss - default settings.

Activate your Magic wand - Outside checked - with these settings:

Step 3

Click with your Magic wand in the bottom square.

Layers - New raster layer.

Copy your misted background.

Paste into the selection.

Effects - Edge effects - Enhance more.

Step 4

Layers - New raster layer.

Copy tube 'Raam'.

Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Activate your Selection tool - Triangle - Add - Feather 0 - Anti alias not checked.

Draw a selection outside the frame of the window.

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Nature - Snow Drift - with these settings:

Click on tab Settings: choose preset 'Factory Default' - click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Step 5

Open tube 'kerstboom'.

Image - Resize - Height 350 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it on the left side - see main image.

Step 6

Open tube 'H@nne_snow2'.

Image - Resize - Height 395 pixels.

Edit - Copy.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place her on the right side - see main image.

Step 7

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 8

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 3 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 15 pixels - background color.

Select this border with your Magic wand.

Effects - Texture effects - Blinds - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss - default settings.

Effects - 3D effects - Inner bevel - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Step 9

Activate your Freehand selection - Point to point - Add - Anti alias not checked.

Draw a selection on the inside of the window, also the small part on the right side.

Effects - Plugins - VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 10

Back to PSP.

Click Undo, until you have only the selection left.

Effects - Plugins - VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes - Random Seed 1944 - click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 11

Back to PSP.

Click Undo, until you have only the selection left.

Effects - Plugins - VDL Adrenaline - Snowflakes - Random Seed 3144 - click OK.

Selections - Select none.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 12

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Animation - Frame properties - 30.

Step 13

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

If you are satisfied:

Save your crea as a gif file and you're done!

If you got a screen, click 3x Next - click 1x Finish.
