Egg-Animation

This lesson was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in the other versions.

 

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS).

you can download the materials.

Place the selections in your selection folder.

 

** Step 1 **

Open tube 'paasei-bruin'.

Make a copy with Shift+D.

Remove the watermark layer and the background layer, so you only keep the egg layer.

Set your foreground color to #e4c4ac.

Set your background color to white.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Foreground-background' - Sunburst - with these settings:

 

** Step 2 **

Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from disk - load selection 'eidop-selectie'.

Layers - Promote selection to layer.

Close the bottom layer for a moment.

Activate layer 1 (the egg layer).

Press delete.

Selections - Select none.

If you look closely you can see a small edge along the top, select that edge:

Press delete in order to remove that edge.

Selections - Select none.

 

** Step 3 **

Layers - New raster layer.

Selections - Load/save selection - Load selection from disk - load selection 'eischaal-selectie'.

Flood fill the selection with your gradient.

Selections - Select none.

Layers - Arrange - Send to bottom.

 

** Step 4 **

Activate your bottom layer.

Open one of the tubes you like most.

Place the tube in the egg, so it comes slightly above the shell, see image below:

 

** Step 5 **

Layers - Duplicate.

Move the image a bit up.

Layers - Duplicate.

Move the image also a bit up.

Layers - Duplicate.

Move the image also a bit up.

Close all layers with the chicken or the hare.

In your layer palette you now have this:

 

** Step 6 **

Open AS.

Back to PSP.

Open the 2 top Layers (the 'eierdop' and the egg), the other layers are closed.

If all is well, you now have a whole egg.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Back to PSP.

Close the layer with the 'eierdop'.

Open the layer with the inside of the edge.

You now have this:

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

 

** Step 7 **

Back to PSP:

Open the bottom layer with the hare (or with the image that you've used).

You now have this:

Edit - Copy merged.

In AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Back to PSP:

Close the bottom layer with the hare.

Open the second layer with the hare.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

 

** Step 8 **

Back to PSP.

Close this layer with the hare.

Open the third layer with the hare.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Back to PSP.

Close this layer with the hare.<

Open the fourth layer with the hare.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Your animation has now 6 frames.

 

** Step 9 **

In AS: Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Edit - Copy (Ctrl+C).

Activate the last frame (only this one has a blue frame).

Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Animation - Reverse frame order.

 

** Step 10 **

Select all frames (Ctrl+A).

Animation - Frame properties - 30.

Click in frame 1.

Animation - Frame properties - 150.

View - Animation.

If you're satisfied, click on:

File - Optimalisation Wizard - click Next.

Click on Adjust - click on tab Transparency - see image below:

Click 3x Next - click Finish.

Edit - Save as - save your creation as a gif file and you're done!
