For this tutorial you need Animation Shop (AS)

 

you can download the materials.

It contains: 1 color label - 1 tube - 4 pictures - 1 mask - 1 font.

 

Place the font in your Font folder.

Open FXplorer: click on Tools - Load fonts (by folder).

Go to the folder where your fonts are.

Click on the letter of the font you need.

When it's done, the fonts are in the fonts in PSP.

Step 1

Open the tubes, the pictures and the mask in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #bf331a.

Set your background color to #000000.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Linear' - Angle 45 - Repeats 3 - Invert not checked.

Open a transparent image of 650 x 500 pixels.

Flood fill your image with your foreground color.

Step 2

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Layers - New mask layer - From image - find mask 'halloween9' - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen.

Step 3

Activate your Magic wand - Tolerance to 10 (higher if it's not a pretty square).

Click in the first square in your crea.

Copy picture 'vampire'.

Back to your working image.

Paste into the selection.

Selections - Select none.

Step 4

Do the same with the next pictures:

Hell

horror

hallow.

Step 5

Switch your colors.

Activate your Text tool - font Halloween - Size 40 - Stroke width 0.

Type: Halloween 2008 or at your choice.

Place the text right below - see main image.

Step 6

Lower the size of your font and type your name.

Switch your colors back.

Step 7

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 8

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 20 pixels - background color.

Select this border with your Magic wand - Tolerance to 0.

Flood fill the border with your gradient.

Step 9

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - foreground color.

Don't Deselect!

Step 10

Layers - Duplicate - repeat 1x.

You now have 3 layers in your layer palette.

Close the 2 top layers.

Activate your bottom layer.

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise - with these settings:

Adjust - Blur - Blur.

Close this layer.

Step 11

Open and activate the middle layer.

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise: 40.

Adjust - Blur - Blur.

Close this layer.

Step 12

Open and activate the top layer.

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise: 50.

Adjust - Blur - Blur.

Step 13

Close the 2 top layers.

Open and activate your bottom layer.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 14

Back to PSP.

Close the bottom layer.

Open and activate the middle layer.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 15

Back to PSP.

Close the middle layer.

Open and activate the top layer.

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 16

Back to PSP.

Copy tube 'psp5560-SCLarsen-AutumnsWitch'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Mirror.

Image - Resize - 75% - All layers not checked.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 6 - Opacity 100 - Blur 1 - foreground color.

Repeat with Vert and Hor to minus 6.

Step 17

Edit - Copy.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Click 1x Ctrl+C - click now 2x Ctrl+L.

You now have 3 frames.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all - Edit - Copy.

Step 18

Back to your main animation.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Edit - Paste - Into selected frame.

Place the witch left below - see main image.

Step 19

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

If you are satisfied, save your crea as a gif file and you're done!
