For this tutorial you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

Filter Factory Gallery D - Dynamic Contrast

Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow

Place or install the plugins into your Plugin folder.

It contains: 1 color label - 4 tubes.

 

The tubes are by Jet, Nadine and Nurso.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #8496a3.

Set your background color to #000000.

Set your foreground to gradient 'Linear' - Angle 135 - Repeats 3 - Invert not checked.

Open a transparent image of 750 x 520 pixels.

Flood fill your image with your gradient.

Adjust - Blur - Gaussian blur: 10.

Step 2

Effects - Plugins - Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow - with these settings:

Effects - Texture effects - Tiles - with these settings:

Step 3

Copy tube 'NS_310_0809'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Move it to the right side, a little outside your crea.

Change the Blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L).

Step 4

Copy tube 'vleermuizen' (bats).

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place them left below.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 10 - Opacity 50 - Blur 10 - color black.

Step 5

Layers - New raster layer.

Add your name and/or watermark.

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 6

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - background color.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 100 pixels - foreground color.

Select this border with your Magic wand.

Change your gradient to Angle 45.

Flood fill the border with this gradient.

Step 7

Effects - Plugins - Filter Factory Gallery D - Dynamic Contrast - with these settings:

Effects - 3D effects - Inner bevel - Leny - or with these settings:

Selections - Invert.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 10 - Opacity 50 - Blur 10 - foreground color.

Repeat with Vert and Hor to minus 10.

Selections - Select none.

Image - Add borders - Symmetric - 2 pixels - background color.

Step 8

Copy tube 'yougiveme'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place the text upper right in the border.

Close the locker at the end of your layer palette.

Click 1x with your foreground color some where in the text.

Open the locker.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor 10 - Opacity 50 - Blur 10 - color black.

Effects - 3D effects - Drop shadow:

Vert and Hor minus 10 - Opacity 100 - Blur 10 - foreground color.

Layers - Merge - Merge al (Flatten).

Step 9

Open the next 3 tubes:

* jet-weird1-januari-2008

* ccd-hall59

* Nadine Halloween 016.

Image - Resize (all 3 of them with) - 50% - All layers checked.

Edit - Copy.

Paste them as a ne w layer on your working image.

Place them upper left or at your choice.

Close the background layer.

Layers - Merge - Merge visible.

Step 10

Open and activate your background layer.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - As a new animation.

Step 11

Back to PSP.

Lower the Opacity of the merged layer to 80.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 12

Repeat step 11 and lower the Opacity of the merged layer every time with minus 20 until it's zero.

You now have 6 frames in AS.

Step 13

In AS: Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all - Edit - Copy.

Click in frame 6.

Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 14

Animation - Reverse frames.

Click in frame 6 - press Delete.

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Animation - Frame properties: 25.

If you want you can resize your crea to Width 500 pixels.

Step 15

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

If you are satisfied, save your crea as a gif file and you're done!
