This tutorial was made in PSP 9, but can also be made in the other versions.

 

For this tutorial you don't need plugins.

 

you can download the materials.

It contains: 4 tubes - 1 font.

Open the font and minimize it.

 

The tubes are by MD.

The pictures are unknown to me.

Step 1

Open the tubes in PSP - minimize them for now.

Set your foreground color to #191761.

Set your background color to #023406.

Open a transparent image of 400 x 300 pixels.

Flood fill this image with your foreground color.

Layers - New raster layer.

Flood fill this layer with your background color.

Set the Blend mode of this layer to Dissolve.

Set the Opacity of this layer to 6.

Step 2

Copy tube 'MD-SnowScape'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it at the bottom of your crea - see image below:

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Save your crea as working image.psp.

Step 3

Activate your Text tool - font Chilled - Size 48 - Bold - with these settings:

Close your foreground color.

Type 'Merry Christmas' in capitals, otherwise Santa will stumble.

Make the text over the whole bottom of your crea.

And pull it a bit higher - see image below:

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Effects - 3D effects - Inner bevel - with these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge all (Flatten).

Step 4

Copy tube 'MD-Skate-Santa-1'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place Santa on the right side on your text.

Name this layer 'Santa1'.

Again: Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place this Santa on the left side on your text.

Name this layer 'Santa3'.

Your layer palette looks like this:

Step 5

Copy tube 'MD-Skate-Santa-2'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place this Santa in the middle of your text.

Name this layer 'Santa2'.

Layers - Arrange - Move down.

Your layer palette looks like this:

You can see the differences of the both Santa's.

Santa 2 has closed his eyes.

Activate your top layer.

Step 6

Santa-2 is still in memory.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Mirror.

Name this layer 'Santa4'.

Place this Santa on Santa3 - see image below:

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place this Santa on the first Santa.

Name this layer 'Santa6'.

Your layer palette looks like this:

Step 7

Copy tube 'MD-Skate-Santa-1'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Image - Mirror.

Place this Santa on the second Santa.

Name this layer 'Santa5'.

Layers - Arrange - Move down.

Close all layers and open the layers one by one, to see if the Santa's run well.

Step 8

Close all layers, except the bottom layer and Santa1.

Activate layer Santa1 - see image below:

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it at the top edge of your crea.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste as a new animation.

Step 9

 Back to PSP.

Close Santa1.

Open and activate Santa2.

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it a little lower.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 10

 Back to PSP.

Close Santa2.

Open and activate Santa3.

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it a little lower.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 11

  Back to PSP.

Close Santa3.

Open and activate Santa4.

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it at the top edge of your crea.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 12

  Back to PSP.

Close Santa4.

Open and activate Santa5.

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it a little lower.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 13

 Back to PSP.

Close Santa5.

Open and activate Santa6.

Copy tube 'MD-Snow'.

Paste as a new layer on your working image.

Place it a little lower.

Edit - Copy merged.

To AS: Edit - Paste - After current frame.

Step 14

Click in frame 1 - Edit - Select all.

Animation - Frame properties - 80.

Step 15

View - Animation.

You now can see how your animation looks.

If you are satisfied:

Save your crea as a gif file and you're done!
