Stop the Round

This tutorial was made in PSP X2, but can also be made in other versions.

 

For this lesson you need Animation Shop (AS)

and the following plugins:

Filters Unlimited 2.0

Distortion Filters - Whirl and Warp [vertical]

You can download the plugins here.

 

Here you can download the materials.

It contains: 3 tubes - 1 shape - 1 gradient - 1 pattern - 1 font.

Open the font and minimize it, or load fonts by Tool of font FXplorer and it's in your font in PSP.

If you have placed everything in it's folder, you can start :-)

 

Step 1

Set your foreground color to #bd4a29.

Set your background color to #5a1810

Set your foreground to Gradient - Lineair - Angle 45 - Scale 4.

Set your background to the gold pattern.

Open a transparent image of 500 x 400 pixels.

Flood fill your image with the gradient.

Adjust - Blur - Gaussian blur - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - <I.C.NET Software> - Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Distortion Filters - Whirl - with these settings:

Effects - Plugins - <I.C.NET Software> - Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Distortion Filters - Warp [vertical] - with these settings:

Step 2

Effects - Image effects - Seamless tiling - with these settings:

Activate your Preset shapes - find "cdsign_ornament72".

Set your foreground to the gold pattern and your background to color.

Draw the shape on your working image as shown below:

Step 3

Switch your foreground and background, so the gold pattern is on your background and your foreground is on the background color.

Activate your Text tool - Font Better Off 1.

Layers - New Vector layer.

Type your text as shown below:

Layers - Convert to raster layer.

Move the text in the outer brown edge.

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop shadow:

Vert minus 1 - Hor 1 - Opacity 60 - Blur 1 - color black.

Step 4

Open the tubes and place them as you like.

Give them a bit Drop shadow.

Step 5

Layers - New raster layer.

Selections - Select all.

Flood fill with the gold pattern.

Selections - Modify - Contract - 2 pixels.

Press delete.

Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout - with these settings:

Selections - Select none.

(Step 6 only if you did the circle with black.)

Step 6

Activate your Circle layer.

Activate your Magic wand - with these settings:

Select the color parts of the circle.

Did you do the circle with black, flood fill them with your background color.

Selections - Modify - Select Selection Borders - with these settings:

Flood fill this border with the gold pattern.

Step 7

Add your name and/or watermark.

If you don't want to animate, save your crea as a jpg file and you're done!

Part 2

Animation

 

Nice that you want to animate.

I will try to explain it as easy as possible.

Step 8

Activate your Magic wand - same settings as before.

Close all layers, except the background layer and the circle layer - see image below:

Activate the Vector layer - (if you don't have a Vector layer, click in the color with your Magic wand) click in the color with your Magic wand.

Activate the color layer (I called it brown).

Step 9

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise - Uniform - 10.

Selections - Select none.

Open all layers.

Save as a jpg-file in a folder of your choice.

I simply named it 1.jpg.

Click Undo:

 

untill all layers are invisible again and the Selection is restored, before you apply Noise again.

Step 10

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise - Uniform - 15.

Save this as image 2.jpg.

Click Undo until you have the selection back.

Step 11

Adjust - Add/remove noise - Add noise - Uniform - 20.

Repeat step 3 and save this as image 3.jpg.

Step 12

Open Animation Shop.

File - Wizard animation - with these settings:

Now you see the screen below:

Find the folder where you saved your 3 images:

Add all 3 images.

Click Next - Click Finish.

Your animation will appear on your screen.

If you like it: File - Save as a gif file.
